| On CD: | Frank D'Rone's new CD has been released by Whaling City Sound. Titled "Double Exposure", it has 5 D'Rone ballad solos with Frank on vocals and guitar and 6 swinging big band tunes with Frank, Phil Kelly and his band, the Northwest Prevailing Winds. Arranged and conducted by Phil Kelly himself, this is a marvelous reunion for Frank and Phil. They last recorded together when Phil was on drums on the "Frank D'Rone - In Person, Live at the hungry i" album recorded in the 1960's for Mercury Records. The two have kept in touch and this collaboration is a dream come true for both of them. This is the first big band album that Frank has done since his 1961 Mercury album with Billy May. Thus, this CD was long overdue and when Frank was approached to do it, Phil was the only arranger Frank would consider. The arrangements were conceived via phone calls and tapes sent back and forth, an unusual method coming to a beautiful fruition.Huge thanks go out to the Executive Producers of this CD, who made it all possible:Barry Mizock and Pat McGrath. Thanks, guys!!!Here is how to purchase it:Allegro MusicIt is also available through Whaling City Sound, the publishers, and Amazon.com and wherever fine music is sold.
